Abstract

This research deals with the biography of a scholar from Jerusalem, who lived under the shadow of the Ottoman Empire, and was famous for his wonderful and valuable writings. He is Sheikh al-Islam, the scholar Radi al-Din Muhammad ibn Yusuf al-Maqdisi, known as Ibn Abi al-Lutf.  This research also deals with   his explanatory directions taken from his most important works in interpretation It is a marginal note on the commentaries of Al-Kashshaf by Al-Zamakhshari, Anwar Al-Tanzil and Asrar Al-Ta’wil by Al-Baydawi, and Irshad Al-Aql Al-Saleem ila Mazayat Al-Kitab Al-Kareem by Abu Al-Saud Al-Mufti. The truth is that this marginal note represents the maturity of the scholar Al-Maqdisi - may God Almighty have mercy on him - and his depth in the various sciences of Arabic, in addition to interpretation and doctrine and theology, jurisprudence, hadith, logic, and philosophy. He followed the scholars who preceded him, and he was keen to show his personality
