Peer Review Process
SHIFRA implements a rigorous single-blind peer review system, where the identities of the reviewers remain anonymous to the authors, but reviewers are aware of the authors’ identities. The journal utilizes the ScholarOne system, provided by Clarivate, to streamline the submission and review workflow. All manuscripts must present novel and original contributions and must not have been published or be under consideration elsewhere.

Prior to peer review, all submissions undergo an initial evaluation by SHIFRA’s editorial board to confirm alignment with the journal’s aims and scope. Each manuscript is then assigned to at least two independent referees. Throughout the process, the authors’ identities are known to the reviewers, while the reviewers’ identities are kept confidential from the authors.

In cases where a manuscript receives a negative evaluation from one referee, the editorial board will assign it to a third independent reviewer for reevaluation. If this second evaluation is also negative, the manuscript will be declined for publication in SHIFRA. Authors may receive reviewers' comments with suggestions for improvements and will be required to submit revisions within a specified time frame before a final decision is made.
Authors who wish to withdraw their manuscript from consideration in SHIFRA must complete and submit the Withdrawal Form. It is the responsibility of the authors to adhere to SHIFRA’s formatting and style requirements to ensure the professional quality of their work. Please note that SHIFRA does not provide copyright royalties or financial compensation for published articles.
