Peninsula Publishing Press is the publishing name of Peninsula Publishing L.L.C., a for-profit company licensed in Dubai (Department of Economy and Tourism licence No. 1366143; commercial register No. 2397853). The owner and publisher is Dr. Akhmed Kaleel.
How the journals are funded
The journals are Gold open access. Readers and libraries do not pay. Publishing costs are met from two sources:
- Article processing charges. From 30 October 2026, USD 250 is charged for each accepted article. This is the publishing charge described under Author Fees. It is invoiced only after acceptance. Rejected manuscripts pay nothing.
- Stakeholder funds. The company and its owner provide capital and ongoing funds. These funds support the press, including the cost of articles for which a waiver of the APC is granted.
There is no subscription income. The journals do not carry advertising. If advertising is introduced later, it will be labelled, kept apart from articles, and will have no bearing on acceptance.
This account of revenue is published so that authors, readers and indexers can see how the journals are paid for. It is the disclosure required by the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing (COPE, DOAJ, OASPA and WAME), which ask a publisher to state its business model, its author fees, its waiver practice and its advertising policy. The Scopus content policy likewise expects fees, where they exist, to be stated and not to determine acceptance.
Separation of business and editorial decisions
Neither the article processing charge nor stakeholder funds determine what is published. Editors are not told whether an author has paid or has been granted a waiver. The owner does not direct the acceptance or rejection of individual manuscripts. Where the owner is also an editor, his own manuscripts are handled by an independent editor, as described under Peer Review. Revenue targets are not set for a journal or for an editor.
Licence
Payment of the APC, or a waiver of it, publishes the article under CC BY 4.0. The licence is not reduced for authors who receive a waiver. Each journal’s Open Access page, linked from Open Access, states the same terms.
Direct marketing
Calls for papers sent by email are aimed at researchers in the journal’s field, describe the journal and its indexing accurately, and include a way to unsubscribe.
