Archiving Policies

All Peninsula journals publish under CC BY 4.0. There is no embargo on any version of an article.

Self-archiving

Authors may deposit their work in any repository or on any website, including a personal site, an institutional repository, and a subject repository:

  • The preprint, the version before peer review, at any time, including before submission.
  • The accepted manuscript, the version after peer review and before the publisher’s typesetting, immediately on acceptance.
  • The published version, the final PDF, immediately on publication.

The deposited file identifies the journal and links to the published article with its DOI, in the form: “The published version is available at [journal URL], DOI: [doi].” Deposit of the published version is under CC BY 4.0, not under a non-commercial or no-derivatives licence.

Funder open-access requirements, including those of the NIH, the Wellcome Trust and similar bodies, are met by the published version itself, which is free to read and free to deposit on the day of publication. Authors do not need to wait, and they do not need a separate licence from the publisher.

Long-term preservation

Published content is preserved through Portico. If a journal stops publishing, its articles remain available from that archive. Each article is registered with a Crossref DOI. Metadata are deposited with Crossref. Journals are listed with Google Scholar, Scilit and the ISSN Portal. Further services, including Scopus where a journal is indexed there, are named on that journal’s indexing page. SHIFRA’s indexing page lists Scopus.

Each journal’s own archiving page describes the same preservation arrangements for that title. The publisher policy is the one that applies if a journal page is silent.
